PUMPKIN CUSTARD CAKE ~ IT’S MAGIC!

I had this vanilla custard cake recipe sitting out on the counter for a month.  Every time I would walk past it, that creamy, custardy, photo of the cake called out for me to hurry up and get to baking.

I finally pulled all of my ingredients out of the pantry and decided at the last minute that I wanted to add pumpkin flavor.  Back to the pantry to pull out my trusty pumpkin pudding pie filling.  I use it in so many pumpkin recipes and the flavor never lets me down.

How to Grow ~ PEACHES

Peach trees are not hard to grow but it does seem like it takes forever before they produce fruit.

If you are reading this, it’s probably because you were looking for information on growing peaches.  You have probably read several articles ( I usually read at least ten) on how to successfully grow them, planting techniques, and basically how to keep them from dying.

We have apples, plums, and peach trees.  The small tree in the foreground is a red delicious apple tree that I purchased from Lowe’s last year and I have managed to keep it alive for the past year.  There are also two small peach trees and two apple trees in the photo above.  The peaches on these trees are tiny and I have no idea if they will mature into an edible fruit.

On the other hand, below is a huge peach tree was full of peaches this year.  The most amazing thing about this peach tree is that it was not a purchased tree but grown from a peach from the grocery store.

My mother can grow almost anything and when she bit into one of the best peaches she had ever eaten, she saved the seed and planted it.  Just goes to show you that it doesn’t take a lot of money to have a fruit orchard, just a lot of patience.

Instant Peach Cobbler (Dump Cobbler)

Thanks to all of the rain and the warm weather, we finally have peaches.  Every year the deer beat us to them, or the birds, or the raccoons, but not this year!

ST PATRICK’S DAY MINT MILKSHAKE

I have been seeing all of these amazing Freakshakes on Pinterest and decided I wanted to try making these amazing looking milkshakes.  For my first attempt, I decided to make this chocolate-mint shake since Saint Patrick’s Day is just around the corner.

I topped it with green & white candies,  Andes mint chocolates,  and these lovely powdered donuts.  I also sprinkled everything generously with green sugar and a drizzle of chocolate sauce.  Of course, I had to add a considerate amount of whipped cream.
